Adelaide McKenzie

CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST

Adelaide is a clinical psychologist who is interested in how people come to understand themselves within the context of their lived experience and their relationships. She places the therapeutic relationship at the centre of her work, and aims to create a space where clients can feel safe enough to slow things down, reflect, and make sense of what they are going through at their own pace.

Adelaide values reflection and curiosity as key parts of the therapeutic process, with a focus on gently expanding awareness and deepening understanding of thoughts, emotions, and relational patterns. Her work supports clients through times of adjustment, overwhelm, or disconnection, with the aim of fostering greater clarity, flexibility, and self-compassion in how they relate to themselves and those around them.

Adelaide's approach is grounded in attachment and relational frameworks, and informed by training in a range of evidence-based and trauma-informed therapies, including attachment-based therapy, Mentalisation-Based Treatment, cognitive behavioural therapies, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. She integrates these approaches flexibly and collaboratively, tailoring therapy to each person and to what feels most helpful and meaningful to them.

Adelaide draws on experience in the public health system working with children, young people, adults, and families. She has a particular interest in supporting pregnant people and parents of children of any age, as well as young people and those navigating the impact of complex trauma.
